My Story

As part of Linley & Simpson's partnership with Martin House, we are challenging all of our colleagues to see if they can virtually run, walk, cycle, swim, and more, Around the world in 80 days!

As of September 2020, we have raised over £100,000 for Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People and we are looking forward to kick-starting our new fundraising year with this challenge to support them further following the affect Covid-19 has had on the hospice.

The challenge has been designed for everyone- for those in our team who want a fitness challenge the opportunity is there, or if they simply need peer support to get out and walk, all contributions are welcomed towards our overall goal.

We've got a big challenge ahead with 40074.275 km, that's 24,901 miles- an average of 311 miles per day for 80 days! So wish us luck.

Martin House cares for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions and their families, 365 days a year. Last year we provided 3197 nights of care at our hospice here in Boston Spa, alongside 2750 hours of community support, enabling more families to access vital care in their own homes.

We also provided bereavement support to 155 families. For those whose child had a life-limiting condition and families who lost a child suddenly, we provide essential time together to grieve and access to ongoing counselling.
